Couldn’t be easier; simply combine all the ingredients listed below and you’re good to go! For a simple and quick lunch or supper pair this dipping sauce with Chicken and Cheese Quesadillas.
Ingredients
- 1 C sour cream
- 1/4 C Sweet Thai Chili Sauce
- 2 T cilantro paste (see photo below)
While I usually prefer to use fresh herbs when available, I make an exception for this cilantro paste from Gourmet Garden. This is a product I use often when making curries or sauces like this cilantro & Thai Chili Dipping Dauce. Give it a try – you’ll see what I mean!

This looks delish and very boat friendly! Here’s a tip to have sour cream whenever you need it… and you don’t need to keep it in the fridge, but 15 – 30 minutes to sit does seem to help.
To make sour cream use one can of “Media Crema” and a teaspoon of white vinegar, lemon or lime juice. Mix them together with a spoon and you’ve got sour cream. Media Crema is a table cream (not sweetened/ condensed or evaporated). I usually find it with the tetra pack milks near the baking aisle, or it may be with the Mexican food in your grocery store.

Hey Wendy
Thanks for the tip. I have never seen Media Crema before (bet it comes in handy when you are inbetween ports). I will have a look for it the next time I go shopping and will definitely give your recipe a try!
